Area 8 and Saxons Polocrosse cover Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, and Cambridgeshire, East Hertfordshire and East Lincolnshire.

A Bit of Background

Area 8 Polocrosse began in October 2015. A young Pony Club member had seen polocrosse at Pony club Championships in Cheshire and wanted to have a go. Her mum contacted Iain Heaton, a polocrosse coach from Warwickshire who agreed to make the long journey to Essex for a taster session. Twenty four PC members took part on that first day and now over 300 have had a go.

Seven years on and we now run regular training sessions and have members compete all over the country. We now welcome non PC members to play and have members who have joined UK Polocrosse Association clubs. We have players who have become National Champions and played at Home Internationals. We have members who are on the UK Polocrosse Player Development Pathway. We have entered teams for the last 6 years into the PC Championships.​ 2022 saw the introduction of our own pitch at Copdock in Suffolk. We have even welcomed the South African International coach, Bruce MacLarty to our grounds in Suffolk to provide coaching for 18 lucky players.

But polocrosse is not just about the sport. We have made new friends around the country and around the world. It is true that polocrosse is not a sport, it's an obsession.
