England Champions once again with help from Taryn and Xanthe

A huge congratulations to Taryn, Essex and Suffolk Hunt PC and Xanthe, Essex Hunt North PC who were part of the winning England team that once again took the Triple Diamond Trophy at the Pony Club Polocrosse Four Nations. Taryn joined Alfie, Lottie and James in the minis team and Xanthe rode out alongside Boy, Harry and Scarlett in the Juniors. Congratulations girls. The Four Nations takes place every two years and so players starting out now could be in with a chance of being selected in 2021.

Area 8 success at the Pony Club Bombers Arena Tournament

After a weekend of trials and tribulations, we are so proud of the Area 8 teams and players achievements at the Pony Club Bombers Polocrosse Arena Tournament.

Jack's horse Voodoo went out early in the preceding week lame but our coach Iain Heaton saved the day by loaning his fantastic mare Tia. However, nothing could prepare us for the terrible news on Friay evening that Seona and her mum had been involved in an awful road traffic accident on their way to the tournament. Her horse Raptor was in the vets and we awaited news with baited breath. But Seona showed her true Scottish Braveheart by arriving early the following morning ready to play on kindly loaned Little man, belonging to the Wilson-Fitzgeralds. Once gain the polocrosse community had rallied and their kindness and support in such difficult circumstances are much appreciated.
Despite the challenges Area 8 enjoyed a very successful weekend with win for Taryn Tinker with the Mix It Up team in the minis. There was a hard fought 2nd place for Xanthe Goodman in the Intermediate Juniors with a Best Number 1 and Best Horse prize for Cookie The Monster. And the best play we have seen to date for our only complete Area 8 team in the Novice Seniors with Jack Page, Seona McCredie and Stella Stearn.

A trying weekend buy Area 8 came out on top in every respect. We are pleased to report that Raptor has spent some time at Newmarket and is now on the road to recovery. Get well soon Raptor.

 Area 8 Polocrosse Camp 2019

A huge thank you and well done to everyone who came along to our 4th Area 8 Polocrosse Camp; kindly sponsored by Fenn Wright and Motorcycle Restoration Company. This was our biggest ever and despite the weather being not particularly kind on Saturday, it didn't dampen anyone's spirits.

Everyone was treated to some fantastic coaching on Saturday followed by a lovely fish and chip supper in the sunshine. On Sunday, we enjoyed fun chukkas all day and saw some great play from everyone. Some personal goals were met and surpassed and it was a treat to see so many smiling faces.

The weekend ended with a great display of polocrosse from our demo players and with a special guest appearance from New Zealand international player Edie Neill. The day closed with a prize giving at which all of the Pony Club members were awarded with their Pony Club Championships qualifier rosette. A huge well done to the following Pony Club members who have earned themselves a place at Champs in August:
